Common questions

How do I get Capital One email alerts for every purchase?

Under Instant purchase notifications, set Amount to $0 and check Email. Capital One’s alert settings explain that entering $0 enables notifications for all purchases. Repeat this for each credit card you want to track.

Can I enable alerts in the Capital One Mobile app?

Yes. Capital One’s instructions say to open Profile, then Alerts & Notifications, select your card, and tap Instant Purchase Notification. Choose email, set the minimum amount to $0, and tap Save. See Capital One’s official purchase notification instructions. The screenshots above show the website, so the mobile layout may differ.

Why am I not receiving Capital One transaction alerts?

Check that you selected the right card, set Amount to $0, and checked Email for the alerts you want. Confirm the email address shown beside the checkbox, then check your spam folder and email filters. Capital One notes that notifications can be delayed. If alerts still do not arrive, contact Capital One through its website or app.

How do I receive emails about refunds?

Enable Email under Merchant refunds for your card. This is separate from Instant purchase notifications, so turn on both to receive purchase and refund emails.

Do I need email alerts if text or push notifications are already on?

For Meli’s automatic email import, yes. Text messages and push notifications do not send transaction emails to your inbox. Select Email for both alert types; you can keep your other notifications enabled.

Do I need Meli to enable Capital One alerts?

No. You set up alerts directly in Capital One.
