Set up Chase transaction alerts

  1. Sign in to Chase

Open chase.com (opens in a new tab) and log in to your account.

  2. Open Manage alerts

Go to Profile & settings. In the settings menu, expand Alerts, then select Manage alerts.

Chase Accounts page with Profile & settings circled in red.
Start with Profile & settings on the Chase website.
Chase settings sidebar with Alerts expanded and Manage alerts marked as the next selection.
    Alerts → Manage alerts.
  3. Choose your card and open Transactions

Use the Customize your alerts dropdown to select your Chase credit card. Expand Transactions to see the purchase and credit alert settings.

Manage Alerts page showing a Sapphire Preferred card selected and the Transactions section expanded.
The example shows Sapphire Preferred. Choose the card you want alerts for.
  4. Turn on purchase emails

Find Single transaction above $. Set the dollar amount to 0.01 and check PrimaryEmail.

This sets the alert threshold to one cent, so purchases above that amount can trigger an email. You can keep mobile notifications enabled too.

Chase Transactions settings: amount 0.01, PrimaryEmail checked for Single transaction above and Credit pending on your card account, and Save circled.
Settings for steps 4-6: enter 0.01, select PrimaryEmail for both alerts, then Save.
  5. Turn on credit emails

For Credit pending on your card account, check PrimaryEmail as shown above. Chase will email you when a credit, such as a merchant refund, is pending. Meli can automatically read these emails and show refunds in your transaction history, so you can track money coming back without entering it manually.

  6. Save your alerts

Click Save at the bottom of the page. If you have more than one Chase credit card, select the next card and repeat the transaction alert settings for that account.

You’re all set!

Chase will now email you about purchases and credits. Connect your inbox to Meli to automatically import and categorize your spending.

Common questions

How do I get Chase email alerts for small purchases?

Under your credit card’s Transactions settings, set Single transaction above $ to 0.01 and select PrimaryEmail. This requests alerts for transactions above one cent. Save the setting for each card you want to track.

Can I enable alerts in the Chase Mobile app?

Yes. Chase’s instructions say to sign in, tap the person icon, open Alerts & messages, and tap Manage alerts. The screenshots in this guide show the website, so the mobile labels and layout may differ. See Chase’s official account alerts guide for its mobile instructions.

Why am I not receiving Chase transaction alerts?

Reopen Manage alerts and check the selected card, amount threshold, PrimaryEmail checkboxes, and saved settings. Confirm your email address in the alert delivery settings and check your spam folder or email filters. Chase says delivery timing varies and may be delayed. If alerts still do not arrive, contact Chase through its website or app.

Where do I change the email address for Chase alerts?

Open Profile & settings, then Alerts, and look for Delivery preferences or Alerts delivery. Review or edit the email address used for alerts. Chase’s labels can vary by account and interface.

Do I need email alerts if push notifications are already on?

For Meli’s automatic email import, yes. Push notifications alone do not send transaction emails to your inbox. Select PrimaryEmail for both alert types; you can leave your preferred mobile notifications enabled as well.

Do I need Meli to enable Chase alerts?

No. You set up alerts directly in Chase.
